Check This For Me is built with a safety net. If something you write suggests you may be in danger, we set our normal features aside and show you the same clear guidance every time. Here is exactly what we do — no surprises.
If you mention wanting to hurt yourself
We stop everything else and point you to real human help: the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988, free and confidential, any hour) and 911 if you're in immediate danger. We'll also gently suggest telling one person you trust. Our AI stays kind and stays with you, but it will never pretend to be a substitute for human support.
If you describe a medical emergency
Chest pain, signs of a stroke, a bad fall, trouble breathing — we tell you to call 911 right away, before anything else. No quiz, no chat. Software cannot help you in a medical emergency; paramedics can.
If you're being scammed right now
We tell you to stop replying immediately, call your bank using the number on the back of your card if money or details were shared, call 911 if you feel threatened, and report it at reportfraud.ftc.gov when things are calm. And we'll remind you of the truth: none of it is your fault — these criminals are professionals.
Honest about the AI
Check This For Me uses artificial intelligence — very capable computer programs, not people. Our AI never asks for money, passwords, or personal codes. Nobody from Check This For Me will ever call or email asking for those either.
